Pulenta Estate Gran Cabernet Franc XI
Cabernet Franc is the variety that is reinventing Argentinian wine. Good phenolic concentration delivers a fruity and floral wine, with elegant, silky and persistent tannins. Exotic aromas that seduce consumers and tasters alike.
750 ml bottle. 100% Cabernet Franc from Finca La Zulema vineyard at Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina, at 980 meters above sea level with heterogeneous, alluvial soil; with a rocky subsoil made up of stones and a finer layer of sediment on top. Excellent permeability and drainage, which allows a good in-depth exploration of the roots. Two days of cold maceration at 8°C and complete maceration for 21 days. Fermentation in small stainless steel tanks, roll fermentors and oak barrels with spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Ageing for 18 months in French oak barrels. Alcohol 14.30 %. Acidity 5.90 g/l. pH 3.70. Residual Sugar 1.80 g/l.
Harvest 2017: 95 points (Tim Atkin), 94 points (James Suckling). Deep ruby in colour, with intense aroma of pepper, eucalyptus and spice. Its entrance on the palate is sweet and smooth, due to the presence of round and ripe tannins. Elegant and long finish.
